1) They were obvious enemies and interestingly enough it revolved around Bosco. it exploded with the shooting of Faith literally. But then when he was also shot and injured badly there was sort of a peace between them when faith killed Donald Mann.
2) Cruz even went to prison for her and got beat up. I don't know what shifted but something did. I like to think had things continued they maybe would have worked together somehow.

Personally, I think Faith never really liked Cruz's tatics or Cruz herself. The fact that they still disliked each, but at least remained civil towards each other can be seen in the series finale right before Bosco leaves and Cruz goes after him.

They were like two kids fighting over the same toy, in a weird sort of way. I think Cruz only wanted Bosco because she thought he belonged to Faith. She told him that she'd thought Faith was his girlfriend in the epi where Faith asked for a new partner.
In Nobel's room, it came down to fighting over Bosco more than not wanting the gun turned in I think. Cruz strikes me as the type of woman to want what someone else has.

The only positive thing about their relation is the respect to each other in the 6 season.

Claudia, I think there was much more differents between Yokas and Cruz. Cruz was so damn good cop, Yokas... well, sometimes was, sometimes wasn't. Cruz gave job everything she had and I love her sacrifice. She's real hero. And Cruz was rude, that's a fact, but she respected Swersky for example. Yokas was cheeky to Cruz, although she was her boss, right? Cruz was sergeant and Yokas was officer. I just don't like they way Faith treated Cruz, it's so unhuman, for me. You know, you don't have to love everybody, but Cruz didn't do anything to Yokas, Yokas shot first in the hotel, so, it shows what human she was.
Bosco: Goodbye.
Cruz: Goodbye.

Bosco: (about Cruz) She just lost her sister!
Yokas: So what?
Bosco: SO WHAT?!
It was something like that I hope I didn't mess up a quote too much.
It shows that Faith didn't like Cruz from the very beginning - no reason in general, but deep inside there was a reason - like I mentioned - jealousy...
and coming back to hotel room shootout it was Faith who shot first, it was Faith who shot in HEAD in order to kill not to stop Cruz from doin' something. If she wanted to stop her she could shoot her in leg, arm but for God's sake not in the head!
In season 6 they became civil, and that was cool.
The main diffrence between them was the attitiude which lead to the diffrent response from the viewers. Faith was nice and all, Cruz was tough, agressive and asertive which made her "bi***h" in people opinion
But the "thing" is that Faith had much heavier sins than Maritza.
- she had abortion not because of rape or health reasons (danger to mother or child)
- she left for death Ceasar in season 1
- she killed Mann in cold blood (whatever we like her or not because of it - she did it and it's a fact - it was murder
- she has intentions to kill Cruz in s4 finale
Cruz:
- screwing protocol
- "the attitiude"
- a bit dirty but not corrupted with involvement of suspects - like selling out cops or cooperating with them and not a rat
My intention is not to bash Faith - she is one of my favs too and I really really like her and the whole interactions between her and Cruz
> but to show the diffrences between Cruz and Faith
So jumping into conclusions:
Yes, Cruz did more mistakes but they were not bad as Faith's
and the "being nice" stuff makes most of people to discredit Cruz and see Faith as the always good one which is not true. Yokas was even more dirty than Cruz in the end IMO.

... with big sentiment to:

I'm a Bosco and Faith fan -not a big Cruz fan. but in general I agree with you. I just don't see the abortion thing as a "sin" because I total can see the reason why she did it.
I would like to add one thing to "Cruz's list". She planted evidence to convict someone of murder who was innocent (okay he was a drug dealer).

Bosco: You jealous Sullivan?
Sully: Of your extra guns? If you fall over you'll explode.
Yokas: Okay, so what happens next? You guys unzip, I get a tape measure?
Sully: Won't take much more than a kiddie ruler for Bosco.
Bosco: Yardstick.
